The Best New Year’s Resolutions for Improving Health
A new year brings excitement, hope, and new dreams. Maybe you’ve already set out to make 2021 your best year yet, but here at Vitality Precision Chiropractic, we are passionate about helping you achieve more and live the healthiest life possible. We want you to dream bigger and work harder to make your dreams a reality, so we’ve laid out the best New Year’s resolutions that will help you be healthier and happier all year long.
Let’s face it—we all need more sleep! Now you’ve got your Rochester Hills chiropractor agreeing with you and encouraging you to sleep more in 2021. The majority of adults are sleep-deprived, some just a little and some a whole lot. A lack of sleep wreaks havoc on your immune system, your mental health, your ability to heal from injuries, your mood, and so much more. Set a bedtime for yourself and stick to it! You’ll reap the benefits almost immediately, and the longer you’re consistent with your 7-8 hours a night, the more advantages you’ll experience.
A lot of us aim to eat healthier at the start of each new year, but in order to make that happen, we need to be smart and strategic about it. HOW are we going to eat healthier? WHAT are we going to eat or not eat? And perhaps most importantly, WHY are we eating healthier? With proper motivation, we can do just about anything. But if we lack a solid “why,” chances are high that we won’t stick with it. Eat smarter by planning ahead, eating fresh, whole foods, and aiming to cut out as much processed and high-sugar foods and beverages as you can.
It’s great to start a brand new exercise routine or join a gym or sign up for a 5K, but just as with eating healthier, you need to be strategic about being more active. Commit to always taking the stairs, walking for 20 minutes a day, or get a standing desk for your treadmill. Any little bit helps, but you need to be intentional about it. Set a daily goal of steps or active minutes and stick to it.
